Artificial Insemination
Although the Artificial Insemination has currently been put on the back burner due to recent budget problems, we hope to have the resources in the future to restart the program. The UMass Boer Goat Herd began our Artificial Insemination breeding program in the fall of 2006. The goal of this program is to incorporate better genetics into our herd while teaching students about reproduction and breeding management.

UMASS 416, the doe we artificially inseminated, kidded on April 11, 2007 and had triplets-one buck and two does! Her kids are sired by Bon Joli Mr. Red Macho Man.

Bon Joli Mr. Red Macho Man
We are extremely proud to have Mr. Red's genetics introduced to our herd. He is a 3rd generation red buck that has the muscle and meat qualities we strive for.

Outback Boers Scorpios Stinger
Stinger is the son of "T4 Scorpio" a well known red buck in the industry. Stinger is an up and coming buck who is making a name for himself as a meat producer with color as an added bonus! He was used on our does in the fall of '08. We look forward to seeing his kids as we have very high expectations for his superior genetics.
