All but one of our does was ultrasounded and confirmed pregnant. One of the two does that we artificially inseminated was confirmed pregnant, so we will be expecting our first ever AI kids in April 2007!

October 18, 2006

We purchased semen form BIO-Genics to artificially inseminate two of our does in the 2006 breeding season. The semen is from two paint Bucks, Bon Joli Mr. Red Macho Man and Outback Boers Scorpios Stinger. We are starting this technique late in our breeding season so we are prepared for mixed success this year, but we are hoping to incorportate AI more extensively into our 2007 breeding program!

Dr. Steve Purdy will be giving a presentation on Parasitology October 23rd 2006 at 7:00pm in the Hadley Livestock Barn.
