Herd Sires

We choose the bucks used in our breeding program based on their ability to pass desirable traits on to their offspring. We value traits such as rate of gain, muscling, length, high weaning weight, parasite resistance, temperament and conformity to breed characteristics.

We currently have a great young buck that we are using for breeding this fall. He was purchased this spring at the Northeast Livestock Expo where he took 1st place in his class!

Thor

We have resently finnished breeding for the Fall '09 season. Our girls were bred to a promising young buck bought from Tony Santos of SA FULL MOON BOER GOATS. He is a strong, structurally correct buck with tight shoulders which will be an asset to our herd. We will have kids on the ground in February and look forward to seeing the kids he will produce.

MUM Trouble

We have incorporated genetics from Oak Hollow Livestock's "MUM Trouble" into our herd. He has given us some beautiful doe kids and we will be breeding them next fall. We are excited to see Trouble's genetics incorporated into our does.

Hill Place Sir Donald (DOB:1/2/06)

"SIR DONALD" was purchased from Don and Deb Borden of Hill Place Farm in Corning, NY in summer '07. We are very excited to have this buck in our herd. He is one of the best bucks UMass has been able to purchase, and his proven genetics will add a great deal to our breeding program. His pedigree is rock solid on top and bottom, including *Ennobled* names such as RRD GUAGE P529, RRD REMINGTON, ARGUS ACRES REBECCA, RRD MS. M27, not to mention the long time proven genetics of both the Downen and Tri-Quest lines. We have high hopes for this buck and will be using him for many years to come!

CJHF1 V45 “Shaq Attack” (DOB:6/7/06)

CJHF1 V45 “SHAQ” was purchased in June 2007 from James and Connie Baily of CJ Hill farm in Palmyra NY. Shaq is a solid buck with excellent conformation and character. He has a clean bite, two teats and sound feet and legs. His wide front and length of leg give him plenty of eye appeal. We have high hopes for this young buck in the upcoming breeding season. He certainly has the potential to put some size and length on our kids!
